To the north of Berlin stretches the Naturpark Barnim — a mosaic of forests, moorland and lakes. It is ideal for day hikes from Berlin.
Liepnitzsee — the Most Beautiful Forest Lake
Take the S-Bahn to Bernau, then bus 894. The lake lies in the middle of the forest, has crystal-clear water and a small island with a bathing spot. In summer, it is one of the most beautiful places to swim near Berlin.
Walking Route — 66-Seen-Wanderweg
The 66-Seen-Wanderweg circles Berlin in 17 stages. You can pick out individual sections — almost all of them start and end at S-Bahn stations.
